Images to leave you breathless

Got a slideshow here that comes billed as "50 Iconic Oscar Gowns." Some real good-looking' ladies in some real good-looking' gowns, but most of 'em are a ways away from what I would consider "iconic."

ETA: HuffPo has a similar slideshow; also a poll so you can vote on the "Most Memorable Outfit." For the record, I went with Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, and Nicole Kidman, in that order.



The overall voting so far agrees with me about Kate, Penelope and Halle (though not in that order), but replaces Jennifer and Nicole with Julia Roberts and Michelle Williams.

I willingly concede that Michelle looked fantastic in her yellow Vera Wang, but I still think Roberts is a poor choice.
